Nvidia is not a 'good bet' long term: Analyst

Nvidia (NVDA) dropped slightly on Thursday afternoon. CapWealth founder and chief investment officer Tim Pagliara joins Market Domination Overtime to give insight into Nvidia's recent performance and key concerns for the tech giant and its customers.
Pagliara explains that a "better bet" than Nvidia is to invest in the companies that provide the supporting infrastructure for AI: "I mean, no one really talks about it, but a Google search today compared to a Google search with AI takes 10 to 15 times as much energy, and that hasn't really hit the market yet. And so I see energy companies, GE Vernova (GEV) as an example, as really benefiting from that. So you can make money around the edges in a more sustainable long-term way because our utility, industry, our grid, all of that needed upgrading anyway."

AI stocks will dominate 2024. Why I prefer NVIDIA is that they are better placed to maintain long term growth potential, and provide a platform for other AI companies. I know someone who has made more than 200% from NVIDIA. I'll also take these other recommendations you made.

Im an AI researcher. These people haven’t a clue of whats coming. The genAI piece right now is the simplest form of the AI that is to come. it processes text for learning and has no ability (other than whats embedded in the text) to make real predictions. The next gen AI - coming very soon - will have video as its input (not just output like sora) and will be able to make decisions and plan. Then later it will have the world (reality) as its input. we have the fundamental theory and math for all this. we just lack cohesive performant software and hardware. the hardware demands of the next gen AI will dwarf the current demand for GPUs. Nvidia - and anyone holding any significant amount of GPUs - will be the most valuable company (ies) in the world.

again. current models are simple compared to whats coming. this will be ongoing trend for 5-10 years until we get to AGI. then all bets are off.

If you can’t even say it correctly, why comment on it 😂.

All this guy can complain about is NVIDIA's MC is just too large. Has zero understanding of the company, the technology or the customers. What a complete DF. (and never even heard of him before). The day manager just told his staff, "Go find some idiot that doesn't like NVIDIA".

This “analyst” clearly missed out on Nvidia. Also, disrespectful of Jensen Huang’s visionary business acumen and work ethic.

Not sure he justified caution, beyond we should be cautious which is one of the key tenets of investing 🤷‍♀️ Sounds like he just wants to be a dissenter simply because there’s consensus, which I don’t mind, but not without actual justification.

It comes down to the most incredible technology that came out in my lifetime and I’m not young is AI. And to date it is created primarily with one company’s chip that they developed for over ten years. So it’s unprecedented. CISCO’s output just didn’t seem as transformative of civilization as NVIDIA’s.

How about short term say about 6 months to a year, is it a better bet than Microsoft or Apple? I missed out on this present Nvidia gain, I hope not too miss out on the next

Just Haters, NVDA ARM TSM, will dominate for the next 10 years, they are the layers for the technology 🎉🎉🎉

I think the naysayers are jealous because they missed the run up and just don't comprehend the impact AI will have and the demand for nvda products to make that happen. Not only corporations will be buying nvda products but countries all around the world will be buying nvda products. That is just getting started. We are in early innings for the AI rollout. I have been in Nvidia since 2011 and due to the two splits I now have 60, 000 shares and it made me rich. I have not sold a single share yet but will be selling to build a luxury custom home and classic muscle cars and a Porsch 911 Turbo S. I am sticking with nvda for the rest of my life. Nvidia has disruptive world changing technology. I see this stock continuing to increase in value. Buy and hold.

He’s a value investor speaking the language and tenets of value investing, nothing wrong with that. But the new revolution of AI is having unprecedented impacts on the economy which can’t be ignored.

Truly, utterly, epically...stupid. NVDA will soar for the next 2-3 years (with some pullbacks along the way of course)

It took 40+ years to create NVDA's products versus 60 years for BRK.A which created nothing. They are not comparable. One is the future, the other is the past.
