Spheres are a natural occurrence in Minecraft, let me explain.

The reason planets are a sphere is because gravity is pushing it on all ends, compressing it into a ball.
But Minecraft is flat, so that means all of the gravity is pushing down in one direction, making a flat world instead of a sphere

I think the world sphere was a shader setting. You notice he was using shaders? Well in the settings you can change “world curvature”. this changes how curved the distance looks for yourself.
