Your family is adorable! You are SO right about Purdy paintbrushes. Compared to any other brand it's like night and day. I found a whole set of them at a garage sale about 20 years ago (struck gold lol)....unfortunately I loaned some of them to someone and of course never got them back. I had two left though, and after 20 yrs, and also being already used when I got them, they're still perfect. They're expensive but if you take care of them they last a lifetime and they make painting a joy, so they're really worth it.
Thank you for all the good information. I'm going to try that non-toxic cleaner!

I am building a sipping container house and want to use dressers, china cabinets and the sorts instead of "traditional" kitchen cabinets; my budget does not have the capital to quality cabinets; all that you have shared is most apprecitive. Looking forward to see more.

I use clear water to clean furniture before painting. There is NO WAY I would pay $40 to $50 USD for a quart/liter of paint. I buy a custom tinted sample jar of paint from Sherwin Williams for $5. and make my own chalk paint.

Great video. Love that Ohene introduced it! He's a natural. We watch Black Dawg Salvage episodes whenever we can and just last night, during one of their shows, heard for the first time that they are marketing a paint. Today, here's your video from last night, using it! So glad to have an immediate response to my first thought last night - I wonder what their paint is like? BTW, they are only 4 hours away in Roanoke! Keep doing what you're doing, Serena. I enjoy your honest, no nonsense and fun style. Family and all. Oh, and the information is always either helpful or inspirational or both. This time, it's got me seriously thinking about redoing a chair. You make painting furniture look a lot less intimidating. Can I use the Black Dog with a water based primer?  I just painted one bedroom nightstand for my first paint job this weekend and boy was it a lot of work.  I used leftover latex paint and I purchased a water based primer and I only sanded some areas.  four applications later I was tired.  for the next dresser I plan to sand more and I want a different type of paint.
