April Showers: Grad student studies raindrop size

Показать описание
Sean Hudson, a graduate student in the Department of Geography, has collected data on over 907,000 raindrops in an effort to understand how raindrop size and season affect forest ecology.
Last year, Hudson and faculty advisor Delphis Levia, a geography professor in the College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment, placed a precipitation gauge called a distrometer under a tree canopy in Fair Hill, Maryland, to measure the rainfall coming through the tree canopy above.
