Lasik Ruined my Eyes | prk update

This video is my honest 8 month recovery from PRK surgery.
My goal is to remind everyone that fears are real, but we have to face our fear head on. Everyone during their PRK Journey has gone through a moment where they were convinced they would be blind/wouldn't make it, but we are here, and we are figuring it out together!

Every body is different. Every body needs a different amount of time to heal. So don't lose faith, you'll make it!
Eye Surgery might ruin your eyes for a short time, BUT NOT FOREVER!!

Feel free to leave any comments, questions or concerns below, and I will do my best to respond to them all.
Good luck on your Journey to perfect eye sight!

I had PRK 3 weeks ago and I watched your videos and others to prepare myself for what to expect. This video has really helped as a reminder because my vision is quite hazy, and I'm still really light-sensitive, especially in the mornings. All my checkups have been great, but this video helps remind me that I'm on track and I will get there. Thank you 🙏

I'm 2 weeks post-op, and it's driving me crazy with the blurry vision. Thanks for the video.

best video i have seen on the topic. i was scared to click the video with the title at first lol.
i am one mouth out and experiencing ghosting, and monitors at work are super hard to read. doctor says i am recovering remarkably well but it is really unmotivating to feel like my eyes just quite arent right.

thank you for this video, i will stay patient for the new coming months!

Thanks for sharing your recovery story. I'm 10 days since I had PRK and it's reassuring to hear that it's normal to get that feeling that this isn't going as expected but eventually it will all come together. Please continue to update.

I have done pre assessment two times in last 3 years. But, I am not fit for both PRK and LASIK. I was prepared to do it but in the end, I am left all alone with my glasses.

One of the best videos I've seen covering the topic and experience. 5 months post-op and Its been just like you've shared.

I have seen all your videos and i like your approach on the whole procedure. I am 40 days after prk and my one eye is perfect but the other is not so clear. When did you say i feel perfect now and you saw 10/10?

Thank you for both videos. I'm on 21 days post fetmolasik and your first video was totally my, except sensitivity to light. All my life I was too sensitive to light, I would wear dark eyeglasses and I would still need to make shade with my hands, but now after lasik my eyes are not that sensitive to light or the sun. Still too soon to say if I like this or not (coz I love the sun and light) Anyway, I want to thank you for making these videos, they did calm me a little bit. In these 21 days, I have been so worried about my eyes and I have lost like 3 kg bodyweight. I know I will come and check your video from time to time, to calm my self and hope for the better for my eyes too. Thank you.

video title seems a bit click bait. I did SMILE, no dry eyes or pain, outdoor day/night is perfect, but inside large artificially lit interiors signs look bit blurry

I’m an 18+ year-old JEE aspirant with 8+ hours of daily screen time due to online studies.

My eye prescription:
Left Eye: 0.00 (no power)

Right Eye: -0.75 (mild myopia)

I recently got glasses made based on the suggestion that not wearing them could worsen my number. However, I observe almost no difference in my vision on seeing through both the eyes with or without the glasses. but my right sees clear as it has -0.75 no. but on opening both eyes i sees very clear

and i also dont that from how much time i have 0.75 number on my right eye

After wearing glasses for some time, I find it difficult to focus without them immediately, especially when shifting back to relying on my left (normal) eye — it takes around 30 minutes to readjust.

I'm now experiencing mild pain in my left eye, possibly due to the shift in visual dominance after wearing the glasses.

Before getting glasses, my left eye was dominant, and I had no such discomfort.

I prefer staying without glasses unless absolutely needed (e.g. distant viewing).

Additionally, my younger brother (16 years old) has -0.5 in both eyes, but he also experiences no headaches or difficulty seeing without glasses.

I would like your guidance on:
Is it necessary for me to wear glasses all the time?

Can I avoid wearing them during normal activities and study sessions?

Is there a risk of my number increasing if I don't wear them full-time?

pleasereply me

If you're on the fence don't do it. If you're convinced to do it, don't do it. This guy is fine now. He won't be down the line. Eyes will be prone to dryness for the rest of his life, his prescription will change. Glasses or contacts will come back. All he'll eventually have achieved is having to wear glasses while his cornea has been irrevocably compromised.

Had my ASA(PRK) surgery 4 weeks ago and as expected it is still blurry. I had heavy screen time and started using after 1w of surgery. Does this slow down the healing process?

Thanks for the update - I’m sure many people deciding on PRK or recently post PRK will find great comfort in the process you have gone through. I’m wondering if glare (from illuminated objects even in daylight) or halos were a major part of the immediate post op side effects. If so, for how long until they basically went away? Much thanks.

Thank you for your video! I will be at 1 month post op in 2 days and my vision this week is actually worse than last week and I am freaking out 😢. The double vision and bluriness is worse than week 3. Did you experience something similar where your recovery was not linear and will fluctuate or even regress? Getting very nervous since 1 month is a long time after surgery 😢

I got PRK about 10 years ago. I remember the recovery time being...very uncomfortable to say the least. I was extremely sensitive to light - so much so that the microwave clock light was too much for me. It was also borderline painful; it felt like someone was taking a shard of glass and scraping my eye. But after this period, I was fine (other than the occasional dry eye). So worth it in the end :)
