Sony Xperia S won't turn on!

Someone did a full co version for me and replaced the screen.
It's completely dead, the only thing it does is when I plug the charger in the red light comes on at the top.
What could the problem be?

I had exaclty the same problem, here is how I fixed it, I downloaded "Update Service" from the sony website, installed in my computer, then I just disconnected the usb and connected again, that's it, the battery will be dead (it is a battery issue) so you should let it charge a bit and then it's working! Additionally, if your phone is still dead after doind this hold the volume button and connect the usb while holding. Hope it helps!

OMG PEOPLE IT WORKS!!! SERIOUSLY DONT TAKE TO SERVICE FIX CAUSE THEN YOU ARE FUCKED WITH ALL YOUR FILES AND PHOTOS AND ALL THAT IF YOU DONT HAVE BACKUP BEFORE THEY CHANGE THE MAIN CARD IN THE PHONE! BUT SERIOUSLY IF YOU HAVE THIS PHONE AND IT WONT TURN ON AND WHEN YOU PUT THE CHARGER IN IT WILL NOT EVEN FLASH A RED OR GREEN LIGHT, THEN PUSH VOLUME UP AND DOWN BUTTONS AND THE MAIN START BUTTON AT THE SAME TIME FOR A FEW SECONDS. I HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR ABOUT 5 MONTHS AGO AND THOUGHT I GOT IT NOW TOO BUT WAS LUVKY I DIDNT SO I TELL YOU ALL NOW: DONT SEND IT TO SERVICE, JUST PUSH THOSE BUTTONS IT WILL WORK! AND I WRITE WITH CAPS LOCK SO YOU SEE I WRITE SOME THING VERU USEFUL INFORMATION

I have this issue too.I charge 1-2 hour my xperia s  (notification red light on )after charged xperia s (notification light off).I plugged usb xperia s and volume up+volume down.found pc Qhusb_dload mode.My xperia s lost trim area partition.I not found solutions.

I've tried volume up and power too many times, it defiantly won't work by that method.
I think it must be the motherboard that's no good?

solution that worked for me :
leave it charging to a laptop/PC vai USB cable for about 20-30mins then it should turn on :)
after that you can finish charging with it plunged to a wall socket

No I haven't fixed it yet but as I said in the last comment I've tried motherboard changing aswell but that didn't work as my original motherboard worked fine. I have been told it's my screen that needs replacing or the connectors for the screen like the bottom board for the light connector etc. will post as soon as I have tried getting the screen fixed and let you know if it worked.

I have the exact same issue, to me it feels like a battery problem. It does not "boot up" at all, doesn't even start charging, it's like the phone is saying, "what, a cable, I don't know what that is, how should I use the input power you give me"... I will try replacing the battery, not that hard I've seen

I got a solution, download flashtool by Bin4ry and androxde, reboot phone in flash mode. Light will turn green.

I'm having the same issue it was blocking on an app so I just turmed it off with 30% of battery remaining and since yesterday I can't turn it on again. I thought it would be a battery issue so I left it charging more then 12hours but still the same issue. When on charge the red led shows but when disconnected nothing, dead, morte, goddamn! Any idea how to fix this? Because taking the phone appart is really the last option I want to do :-)
