I'd give the same advice. I graduated last year and i wished i joined some club or extracurricular activities. In high school i was in band for all 4 years and it gave me a lot of friends or just acquaintances in pretty much every class. I didn't realized how helpful that was until university. I wanted to focus on academic in uni but i didn't end up with a higher grade, just worse grade, more lonely, and lack of variety on my hobbies. I still made some friends here and there and that is exactly because of Fauna's advice.
So, be social, young saplings.

Actual good advice. Unless you can do everything on your own and don't need social interaction at all, you need people you know at least well enough to do group projects (where you don't have to do everything yourself) and study for exams with.

I just graduated from university, and I did kinda opposite of Fauna's advice. Very little interaction outside of our study field group, barely did anything school related outside of school hours, focused on studies and work.

Yay for pro introvert tactics.
