FlightSimBuilder | G-1000 | Initial Impression | vs Air Manager | MSFS

Just picked up a G-1000 hardware bezel from FlightSimBuilder. This is only an initial impression including some basic flight and thoughts regarding how a hardware bezel compares to Air Manager.

You can also use Mobiflight to map the FSB G1000 units as I've done for G3000 equipped aircraft. I then use Spacedesk and an iPad for the GTC controller units.

It's a great piece of kit and turning knobs is far better than trying to hover the mouse over a button and turn it as the mouse drifts. I also have just the one that I use as my PFD and hopefully oneday will buy a second to use as my MFD.
A real treat when doing IFR and if you go deep enough and need to tune radios and nav radios.

I have been considering this product because of the lowest entry point in the g1000 market. They have a great Facebook group to see others setups. For the price, it is very tempting to dip your toes into a decent avionics setup.

Would love a follow up video on using this g1000 unit with air manager steam gauges. If knobs can be remapped through SPAD, I may not need a touchscreen replacement. Is this unit a 1:1 scale of a real g1000? If so, aviatek offers a very expensive g1000 with a touch screen option which may mean there is a 1024 x 768 touch monitor out there that could be swapped out.
