Wilesco D415/D405 traction engine. To buy or not to buy

Hello and welcome to the discription
In this video i run the engine and talk about certain details about it
And wether or not you should buy one
After about a year i can firmly say that this a fantastic engine
9/10 from me
Why not 10?
The valves are plastic
Thats my only real complain
But the plastic valve is surprisingly reliable.

My only issie with it is the4r stainless steel boiler. If I were to get one, I would paint the boiler black!

This is an excellent video Wihann. Your right hours of fun can be had with these engines and with the right care they will last a life time.What other toy or model will do that?

I have a d305 and I have to say that most wilesco mobiles are the basically the same they are great choices for a first engine they are fun and powerful but I have to say the kit engines like the d415 is special since you have to build it yourself
I have 2 kit engines my d5 and d9 both a blast to build and run but the main issues with kit engines is that a lot times pipes and other parts don’t line up properly or well .
Hopefully maybe for Christmas I get a d415 or maybe another engine like a d28 to add to my big collection.
