Welcome to my second, enhanced 4runner video for 2022! I wanted to offer a longer, more in depth review of this legendary Toyota 4x4. It stands alone in it’s own segment and has been a cult classic for the last 35+ years!

In this video we will cover the exterior, engine and drivetrain, then make our way inside to talk about the space and style on the 2022 Toyota 4Runner SR5. We will even take it for a drive. This 4x4 Toyota has an easy to use (available) 4WD system that will take you where ever you need to go.

We will go over some of the features unique to this rugged body-on-frame SUV, while pointing out some of the differences between the 4Runner and it’s close cousin, the Toyota Tacoma.

Don’t forget to 👍🏼like this video if you enjoyed it, and please share it with someone who would benefit from it! ☝🏼(subscribe to be first to see more new content as it comes!)

Just got a 2022 4Runner sr5 myself in the nautical blue color. Dont care if it’s outdated. I love the simplicity of this truck and know that is capable of lasting several hundred thousand miles. I have an older 97 4Runner with 485, 600 miles on it and still runs great with no issues. Plan to keep that till it dies. These are sturdy, ultra reliable trucks!!

2019 TRD Off Road owner. 47 years old, this is my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. She's my pride and joy!

I own a small dealership, and while I've never owned a vehicle (always just drive a demo), I think this video has convinced me to buy one of these for personal use. I've sold a few over the years, but don't normally stock them due to cost and it's niche market. However, I think I'm going to pull the trigger on one of these in the fall and make it last me my lifetime.

Recently got a 24 TRD off road premium, learning to love it, really like the looks of the 25 trail hunter, but really like the simplicity of the 24, fits me perfect, well, almost, could use a lift & some 33" tires, right now, I'm just thankful I got one before they are no more.

Yes yes yes.. after years dealing with a row of buttons for the heater modes and fan speeds on my previous vehicle, it's SO SO nice to see big KNOBS to turn with gloves on, on my 4Runner. A little old school is certainly welcome in some areas ! Nice vid Brian :- )

Has a growl to it! I love that it won’t let you lock your fob in the SUV. I agree the tactile old school knobs are classic. I reviewed mine recently on my channel. Pretty smooth and so reliable!

I just, after 22 years of not owning one, purchased a new 2023 4Runner SR5 Premium, and I love it! I traded in a 2016 Land Rover LR4 which I also loved but didn't trust and couldn't depend on as I was always sitting on pins & needles waiting for a multitude of warnings to pop up telling me it's "broken"! With the 4Runner, just like with my 2017 Tacoma TRD Offroad, I just get in and go! I was going to get a Limited model but didn't like the full time 4WD system, 20-inch wheels/tires, and more complicated suspension. For more serious off-roading, I'll take the Tacoma! I LOVE the "old school" style, systems, and trucky feel of my new baby!!

I just bought my 2022 Toyota 4 Runner SR5 Premium with 3rd row seats, I enjoy driving it! I have the sunroof slide and tilt. I enjoy using my Standard Shift and the shift stick, it is amazing! Yes, it is worth it to own the 4 Runner SR5 Premium! I don't intend to go off roading I did that a few times with my previous LR2 Land Rover, been there done that! My dog loves his back seat window that slides up and down. My daughter loves reclining in the 4 Runner's 2nd row seats as she makes you tube, tik tok videos or chatting with her friends. This vehicle is by far my favorite! I have yet to take my SUV to the ski terrains..

Love your reviews. After hurricane Ian took both my cars the 2021 SR5 gave me confidence to get out on flooded highways. I chose the same super white 🤙🏻 total workhorse!!

Great review, simplistic and honest. I just bought a used 2019 SR5 4x4, one owner with all service records... 57000 miles and everything feels new. Had a 2015 Tacoma, this is much better. I'm 6'2 and very comfortable in this, Thanks again for such a great review.

New subscriber here…you do a very nice job on these reviews. I commented LY (and recently updated that comment) on your Tacoma review. I have a 2019 Tacoma and have put well over 200k miles on it in 4 years. I bought my wife a 4 Runner Feb 2022. I bought her the 2022 4 Runner TRD Pro in the Lime Rush color.

We are now empty nesters; the last car my wife had - that wasn’t a kid hauler was 25 years ago ; that was a 7 Series BMW. She could have picked any car she wanted- within reason (under 120k was the budget). She wanted a vehicle that she could use on our horse farm and one that had genuine 4WD capabilities. It came down to a Range Rover, Ram Power Wagon and the Lime Rush 4Runner. She decided on the 4 Runner and almost a year later….she absolutely loves the car. The size is perfect, the 4WD capability is as expected and the on road comfort is better than expected.

I drive it occasionally, and compared to my Tacoma it drives nicer and is more comfortable as well. We added KO2 tires, as I add those to all of our SUVs, trucks. I hate that Toyota is going to go to the 4 CYLINDER Turbo on both the Tacoma and 4 Runner. I understand The gas mileage is not good on either and her 4Runner is horrible, as it averages around 16MPG ( my Tacoma averages around 20). However the additional 15-20% increase in fuel economy from a turbo, isn’t a good trade off from the reliability of the 4Runner system or to a lesser degree the Tacoma.

The 4Runner is in my opinion the best vehicle in the Toyota line up and perhaps the best value of any vehicle in production, at least for our needs.

One selling point worth mentioning is- the roof rack . It will hold large items like mattresses, canoes, christmas trees etc. and really adds to the utility factor of the 4 runner. Alot of SUV's these days dont have roof racks cutting?

I got the SR5.
I've had a 4x4 sense i was 16 years and and this is the best 4x4 system I've had.
it's so much of a 4x4 I didn't really need the off road or the pro.
it goes with a good set of tires, the atrac is grate, as long as your not professional rock climbing or go 4x4 ing with street tires the SR5 is a beast ..

Great video man. Wow. Love the big knobs. Love the simplicity and dynamic-ability of all the interior features. I've owned a 2004 Honda CR-v I bought used at 80k(now 240k) for the last 12 years. So I'm already used to the low power. I mean, its going to be better regardless. Looking forward to getting mine in a few weeks.
