If you go back to Los Glaciares National Park, you might consider going on the Huemul Circuit, as opposed to going to the same photo spots that every other photo workshop goes to. Those spots have been photographed to death. Experience the Huemul Circuit for an unforgettable Patagonia adventure. Add on two days by starting at the Hosteria El Pilar. You'll get nice views of Fitzroy and Cerro Torre, and close-up views of Laguna de los Tres (at the base of Fitzroy, with turquoise lakes in the foreground). But, on the Huemul Circuit, you'll also hike across a glacier, get epic panoramic views of the Southern Patagonian Icefield, and be able to photograph the Bay of Icebergs. You'll also cross rivers by Zipline, rapell down a steep hillside, and sleep right next to a glacier. Or you can go back to the same photo spots. I've done the Patagonia workshop option. It didn't come close to my many subsequent independent trips to Patagonia, experience-wise and photographically. Just a thought.

Love seeing someone as passionate and prolific as you photographing my country. Indeed those fall colors were stunning. Although the weather didn't cooperate, in some of those shots it almost seems like the clouds became part of the Fitzroy. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this experience.

Andy I always enjoy your posts and what made me subscribe your channel is your character and humbleness. You know what you want, what you want to use from gear and most importantly is that you are a passionate pro with amazing artistic vision. One day I will be joining your workshops and have a great dialog with you.

Best regards,
From Kuwait

Great video, what a fantastic place Patagonia is. You can't control the weather, that's always in the lap of the Gods but you made the most and came away with some stunning shots. Love your compositions and juxtapositions with the wide shots. Fantastic stuff Andy.

Thank you, also for the narrative… giving hope in situations where things don’t go as planned 😏
Beautiful place and stunning pictures.

Very similar to my first experience there. Five full days in El Chaltén and Fitz Roy was covered by clouds the entire time. I only saw it on our way back, when leaving the town. I was very frustrated initially. I went back twice and got to see it in its full splendor. I hope you have the same experience soon!

I had exactly the same experience (I was there at the same time as you were - we briefly met at the airport), and over time have found some excellent images amongst those that did not conform to what I had hoped for, especially of subjects other than Mt Fitz Roy.

The shot at 4:10 reminds me of Ansel Adams' The Tetons and the Snake River, 1942. Same bend, same dramatic peaks and sky! And those final monotone images are just spectacular. Thanks for taking us along with you!
