Sachin Tendulkar played an aggressive innings, smashing 45 runs off 33 balls, including a six and seven fours. He formed a partnership of 66 runs with Rahul Dravid, scoring at a rate of eight runs per over. South African captain, Hansie Cronje, managed to dismiss Tendulkar by catching him off a well-disguised slower ball.

However, Dravid continued to increase the scoring rate with support from Mohammad Azharuddin. The chase only started to lose momentum when Azharuddin was caught by Jonty Rhodes with a fine diving catch. Eventually, Dravid was also dismissed, driving the ball to Gary Kirsten on the mid-wicket boundary.

It appears to have been an exciting match with some notable performances from Tendulkar, Dravid, and Azharuddin, but South Africa managed to secure the victory in the end.

भारत के finishers अच्छे थे, लेकीं जरा सा दबाव पडतेही टीम chasing मे कमजोर हो जाती थी.
युवराज और कैफ के आने पर भी 8 या 10 मुश्किल match ही भारत निकाल पाया, बाकी 1 या 2 छोड हर final ganguly के समय भारत हारा.
धोनी, रैना, पठाण के आने पर भारत जिद्द से हर लक्ष्य को हासिल करने के लिये खेलता. धोनी के आने पर युवराज भी जमकर pressure मे रन chase किया.
