Jackson Browne- Mutineer (Frankfurt, Germany, 2015)

The Frankfurt show was special to Jackson, as his brother was born here, so he dedicated the set to him. When a young English woman shouted "Play a Warren Zevon song, please", he gladly obliged and played many requests. I thought "Mutineer" was a special treat, however, later I learned that he'd played it the night before as well. Impeccable performance, though, the band was very good.

Jackson was such an important friend to Warren, both professionally and personally (per Crystal's book)...it is great to hear him sing one of Warren's songs!

Thanks for posting, lovely.  This song was what Warren sang on the David Letterman show;  His last public performance.

+ Sweetmelody2011. In his last years or maybe just his last few months Warren spoke as if David Letterman was “the" person that he owed everything to for his rise and success; somewhat true but Warren would have never made it to The David Letterman Show if it had not been for the things that Jackson did for Warren. On a professional level, Jackson on a postcard convinced him to come back from Ireland with a promise of a contract and producing his first two albums and on a personal level he came in the middle of the night at the bequest of Crystal after Warren shot up the place with his 38 caliber and engaging him for the rest of the night in writing a song “Tenderness on the Block” about his daughter Arial (?) who also happened to be Jackson’s godchild. Jackson also drove him to rehab along with another person. To this day (2019) Jackson sings and tries to keep alive Warren’s songs. Who could ever ask for a better friend?
