In order to also use the camera to view your entire garage, you can also mount the camera and controller near the garage opener. Just splice into the wires going to the opener. You can purchase a long power cable if needed to reach a nearby outlet.

Why even use the big QR code? Why not have the camera take pictures of the door closed and the door open and have it recognize which is which based on image recognition? Seems like if the cameras are capable of recognizing people/pets etc then it would be able to determine if the door is open or closed without the QR code.

Finally, a return to home automation. Ordered mine day 1 and have been waiting for the drop off to be able to never come back home after forgetting to shut the garage. Think that it requires a V3 makes sense as it completes both a visual need to see the garage closed.

So the guy at the end of the video, just out for a walk somewhere, stops, takes his phone out and smiles while randomly just opening the garage door. Then puts his phone back in his pocket and just keeps walking. Interesting

Just got mine today. Easy setup with the exception of the wires to the garage motor. The instructions literally just say "connect controller wires" but doesn't say which one (black or red) gets connected to which spot on the motor terminal... I managed to get it connected and it works fine... But I wish that part was clearer...

I wish you could offer just the garage door controller. I could just set it up with my existing Wyze contact sensor therefore I get the same functionality that your new system has. Plus I have a Wyze cam on the side of my garage so I could see my garage live if I want to.

This is like my 15th item lol! I have about 13 cameras inside and outside my house. This was perfect because I hate when I leave not remembering if I closed my door. I have recommended the cam to so many ppl I would have made $$$$ being an affiliate lol! No joke I’ve probably sold a hood 100 cameras.

I insulated my garage door with a foil backed insulation. If I stick the QR code on the foil will the camera be able to read it?

So I have been with Wyze almost since the beginning.... This product has been the biggest headache. I can't even get the app to install the garage controller. It will install the camera- but that's it. Ive done everything that the trouble shooter asks. I've verified the compatibility. I've verified the most current software and firmware. I've logged out of the app, force closed, then logged back in- factory rest the camera. Still the same results. Nothing. I click on the add device, select garage controller...follow the steps- and like it did before- it installs the camera- and that's it. No garage door controller. i've sent an email to support- with the same steps I just mentioned- and I get some regurgitated of the same things I already found and did from the trouble shooting guide- even though I told them what i've already done. I wonder if they even read it the initial request? I thought maybe it's a bad unit? However the issue I'm having doesn't even let me get to the part to where I install it. It feels like a software issue with the app. anyone else having this issue?

I use a regular WYZE cam to view my garage and also views my door. For me I don’t need to open it remotely.

How close does the V3 camera need to be? Can I put it at the far end of garage? 30' away?

It would have been much simpler to just have designed a wifi universal remote..
