Check out the trailer for The Sandman, the upcoming series based on the DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman. The Sandman is coming to Netflix on August 5, 2022.

There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he's made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.

The Sandman is developed and executive produced by Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg, and David S. Goyer.

If there is anyone out there ...who hasn't read the comics and is planning to watch this ....I'd still strongly recommend you check out the comics . They are absolutely a must read for anyone who appreciates Vertigo comics of DC. And comics in general ...don't know to how much depth these shows will capture, but the amount of stories that exists of the sandman, it'll be a miss to skip the comics .

Although he probably won’t be in the first season, I’m really excited to see Hob Gadling. The tale of a man living throughout the centuries and his reckoning with his sins (such as the Transatlantic Slave Trade) and growing as a human being was such incredible writing by Gaiman.

So glad Lucien has pointy ears, that earlier picture had me worried it was just some regular person. I'm really interested to see what happens with Constantine. It'd be great if they get to do more in the series than they did in the comics. Damn Mad Hettie though she absolutely nailed it

The Morpheus casting reminds me of Jackson's Lord of the Rings casting: you'd never had imagined those actors as the characters at stake, but once the reveal arrives, you immediately think "yup, that's the character.".

Netflix is a business, not a charity. If they don't make money out of it, it isn't worth the effort. Sorry mates, but thats the mantra of the business and not a Netflix exclusive way to piss of people. Watch it, tell others to watch it and your favourite show won't get cancelled. It's as easy as that.
