Look, I know too much about career politicians - and Joe in particular - to ever be a fan; but this video reminded me how affable, avuncular and relatable Joe was right up to the end of the Obama administration. He had that crooked but charming smile, and even a hint of convincingly affected humility. Heck, I used to even (sort of) like him... What has probably happened is he's lost the patience to pretend to be nice, and he's lost the ability to read the room. What you get now is a grumpy, defensive old guy who increasingly is living in his own world. Faulty memories and anger are not a good substitute for being able to stay across the issues of the day.
