Another thing is, Ryokugo is immediately set up as trying to impress Akainu. His battle with Zoro could also be a match of wills and how far they’ll go to fight for their captain.

Sanji should fight Kizaru. After all it's Kizaru's fault the crew was split up and Sanji had to endure 2 years on Kamabaka Kingdom

I like that you mentioned that Fujitora stands for true justice. I think people commonly say that Fujitora is "blind justice" but he doesn't really seem to personify that as he did adapt to the situation to do what was right. It is worth mentioning that the symbol for justice is usually depicted as a woman carrying scales and wearing a blindfold. The blindfold is not meant to represent blindness of the truth but rather unbiasedness. So unbiased justice is true justice. Even if the pirates who are typically considered 'bad' are clearly the good guys, then they shouldn't be punished just for being pirates as that would be biased.

You know after introduction of Ryokugyu I can now say that I like every freaking Admiral in the series. Kizaru for his attitude and frankly broken devil fruit, Fuzitora for his moral, Ryokugyu because of his op devil fruit and his introduction, Akainu because he is a very very good villain and Kuzan because he really freaking cool.

8:57 "Fujitora does not BLINDLY follow orders" I think you'll find he does 😂😂

There are also various thematic opposities bewteen the monster trío and the admirals.

Sanji is all about passion and empathy, and Kizaru apathetic.

Zoro has always had a death motif around him. The New Admiral brings life around him.

Luffy is about freedom, and Akainu is about enforcing the rules no matter what. (Not sure about this one)

I agree that Fujitora doesn’t blindly follow orders. However, any order he actually follows he follows blindly…

Would be neat to see Brook vs Momonga, as far as vice-admiral match ups go. Brook hasn't had a good swordfight since forever

2 things I wanna say:
1. I wish the whole "breaking the spirits of the strong" was played up a lil more in Wano and we were shown a quick flashback of Luffy and Jinbei after Marineford to show how Luffy's spirit will never be broken again

2. The whole "Green bull is connected to Zoro" might actually be right but for the wrong reason. Instead of his dad or something, the colour choice might have been to indicate a future opponent.

I’m happy that morj took it on the chin about being wrong about the raid, most people who went this hard about something would either be in denial or just go full on into how much of a bad decision it was only bc they were wrong

I also feel Akainu has a deep grudge towards the Monkey Family, most specifically Dragon. Let's remember how he calls Luffy. Dragon's Kid.

Also Akainu's name is Sakazuki. In Japanese Sakazuki is when brothers share cups. These are hints.

Dragon and Akainu made a brotherly pact. They shared cups. But now Dragon is the leader of the Revolutionary Army. To Akainu this the betrayal of a brother. The worst possible betrayal. This would explain his ruthless code of Justice.

Akainu and Dragon's brotherhood goes so deep, i wouldn't even be surprised they decided to tie their blood. And Luffy's mother was none other than Akainu's sister.

Even more grudges to Akainu, as her death was probably Dragon's fault. So not only he betrayed him in his eyes, but he also took his blood family. In his Justice he shall take Dragon's kin.

This also explains in Marineford why Akainu was specifically targeting Luffy. He is serving Justice.

I initially thought Zoro would take on Fujitora, but after Green Bull reveal its clear to me that is his. All 3 colours match for each of the 1vs1 (red, green and yellow)

The fact that Zoro got a scar so early on in the story was a crazy move from Oda

I think it’s really cool that Jack was there the whole time and oda deliberately kept all the other strawhats away from him because the monster trio is that important

If we think that Luffy's final enemy must be powerful enough that when Luffy defeats him he has to be superior to Whitebeard, Roger, Rocks and Garp, then we can think that Akainu is not just any enemy, but he is so powerful like the legends. This may seem shocking and somewhat difficult to process, but let's think about what Akainu is capable of.
-
First, we have his devil fruit, Oda mentioned that it is, among all the devil fruits, the one with the highest offensive power. We have seen that he is able to pass through bodies very easily, any carelessness could be certain death. Even with Jinbe defending Luffy, Akainu was able to leave a scar on him. Second, Oda mentioned that if Akainu were to search for One Piece he would find it in 1 year, we don't know if he is referring to a year of manga or a year in One Piece, but whatever it is, is very impressive. Third, in Marineford we saw that he is able to use armament haki emission, it seems that he is able to use future sight when he warped his body so that Marco and Vista's haki attacks would not damage him, and there is a chance that he can having conqueror's haki because the previous fleet admiral has it and because we see that he is someone who doesn't get along with the world government. Fourth, we saw that when the admirals fight seriously without worrying about the location, an admiral can change the environment and weather of an island. Also, he fought for 10 days which indicates that he has great stamina and may have had a haki bloom.

-
(Let's think that if Akainu is that powerful, then when he was chosen along with Aokiji and Kizaru they were on a very close level to each other. The admirals who replaced him should be about as powerful. So, we can think that admirals are just as powerful as emperors, something that some people have long defended. Something that would make sense since the admirals are the most powerful characters that the world government has, so their existence has to be counteracted by the emperors, this due to the principle of balance of powers that exists in the One Piece world.)
-
So, this character is certainly very powerful and could be Luffy's rival. Let's think that Akainu can not only hurt with his ability but also with haki. He can deform his body in the face of an attack and if his rival doesn't react quickly he can lose a limb. In Punk Hazard we saw that when the mugiwara were in the hot environment, they were sweating and it fatigued them, so it's an advantage for Akainu when he uses what looks like his devil fruit awakening. It is also seen that volcanoes were created, which when they erupt not only harm breathing but also cause earthquakes that can throw off balance and allow Akainu to attack.
-
We can still think that Im is likely to be Luffy's final enemy. Im is the leader of the world government, the largest and most powerful organization. I think if Im lost all the military might from him, Im won't be weak and give up the throne and that's it, I think Im must be extremely powerful to defend the reign. Also, I've also thought that the reason why Joy Boy didn't keep his promise is because he was defeated, probably by Im, who would prove to be even superior to Luffy's former fruit user. Luffy vs Im would be interesting since Luffy could use his devil fruit ability better than Joy Boy and also because it would look great and poetic for the freest man in the world to fight against the person who has dominated and censored much of the humanity for centuries (if Im living from the empty century).

While I do personally agree that these match ups make perfect sense, I'd always felt it would be even more fitting for sanji and zoro to fight the opposites of who they are clearly paired against right now. Sanji and zoro's rivalry had always been a highlight of their dynamic so them starting off fighting their respective opposites and then switching to Zoro fighting Kizaru and Sanji fighting Ryokugyu I feel would be even better. Their final duel would then essentially be them fighting against each other which I think would be really cool

SSG is still a factor in this marines v pirates. As such, franky vs kuma is a good matchup (if kuma is completely under the WG's control)

What if the arc which follows the Wano arc is The Three Admirals arc? Wano could be the Water 7 to the next arc's Ennies Lobby. It would explain why Wano has all those hanging threads, like the Ussop torture flag.
