Know the facts - Waterworks, BPH and Prostate Cancer

Показать описание
A non cancerous enlargement or swelling of the prostate is known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH which leads to waterworks issues.
The prostate is a small gland that sits of the base of the bladder; when men want to urinate it relaxes, opens up and we urinate through the centre of it. Non cancerous growth or BPH causes enlargement and swelling of this central channel thereby narrowing it and causing blockage of the urethra resulting in urinary flow obstruction.
Patients may complain about waterworks issues such as weak stream, hesitancy, intermittency, or terminal dribbling.
Prostate cancer on the other hand tends to grow in the outer rim or capsule of the prostate, a little bit like a bruise on an apple. Investigations that are undertaken to establish issues and to detect any sign of prostate cancer begin with a simple blood test called PSA and a prostate examination.
