I lost my mother a couple of months ago, she's still alive but she has alzheimer and the mother we had is gone. I dont know why i keep torturing myself listening to Floor singing Mama it breaks my heart everytime.

I got the same with my dad. I'm a total daddy's girl. He's my hero. I have no idea how I would survive without him in my life. I choke up just thinking about it. Floor sang 'Mama' for Samantha and Samantha sang 'Zonder jou' for Floor. A Nightwish song translated into Dutch about missing their parents because of the hectic life in music they chose. So kinda funny how they both chose a song about their parents. I know you don't like her, but give it a chance. Even if it's just to see Floor's reaction to it.

Very good Mr. Viking, I applaud. There isn't much the lovable Floor, or Mrs. Van Dahl is you want, cannot or will not do. What she does do is perfect, I have only seen here fluff once, the emotion singing the song she wrote for her mother who covered up the pain of severe arthritis so the children had a normal childhood did overtake her, and it does in Beste Zangers as one of the ensemble choose to sing it for Floor.
I do hope your mum lasts many, many more years. My father died at 66 and I'm now a tad over 1 month to 75. . . . . . . .My mother died at 99 and 8 months just two weeks before I left England for good and came here to live and retire in the empty, quiet countryside of very rural France. Then, 2 years later it all went very, very wrong, but that's a private story for you later when you get to "the appropriate" Nightwish song.
My best wishes to you, I am enjoying your work. Incidentally your English is truly excellent.

Thanks for the subtitles! That's a good song, Samantha is a great songwriter. And the performance, well there's no words.
It's not easy to get moved by a song in a language you don't understand, for Floor is no problem of course, she makes you feel it

This one hit home for me too. I laid my mother to rest three years ago and I miss her so much. I can't talk to her anymore and it really hurts. I know a little something about depression too, as a Post Combat Stress Syndrome survivor. I love this video and I totally get your reaction. If you hadn't paused it, I would have.

As a musical empath, I can feel the music and feel the emotion of a singer, and when Floor sings it is very hard to be tough as nails and not let nobody see the real image of me... I wish to your mother many wonderful years to come . And Never loose your warming personality .NWSU :)

I've lost my mother a few weeks ago. Suddenly! She was my world. I listen to this song almost every day in this version from Floor. It's heavy to listen but it gives me the faith that we will meet again some day. Thx for this reaction. 😢❤

I’m sorry Viking, but I feel the urge to respond. I don’t mean to be harsh, but the way you are thinking is not going to help you in any way. Death is a fact of life and you cannot keep your mother with you forever. At the end of the day if all goes well you WILL outlive her, so at some point you are going to lose her. It wouldn’t be good if she would outlive you. So instead of building up your fears for that moment, you’d better come to terms with the idea that you will lose her at some point, and in the mean while enjoy the time that you still have together. Remember to kiss while your lips are still red. Don’t waste your time living in fear of death, embrace life instead and enjoy it to the fullest. Get rid of your fears and replace them with joy. Arrive alive. Keep up the good works!
