Munster Rugby Youth Coaching Course
Показать описание
A Munster Rugby Youth Coaching Course was held on Saturday at the University of Limerick.
The course is designed as an introduction to coaching the 15-a-side game for coaches and volunteers with the aim of developing coaches into 'teachers'.
The course is suited to people working with players aged 12+ with an emphasis on player enjoyment and coaching through best practice.
A number of modules were held throughout the day which included general play, attack & defence, the contact area, restarts and setpiece.
Munster Rugby Coach & Player Development Officer Noel O'Meara said: "Today we're running an IRFU rugby youth coaching course. A lot of these coaches would have worked with players under 12, they're now moving to that 13, 14 bracket from the small pitch to the big pitch. Rather than being a guide, it's now about becoming a teacher to the players.
"After today, they will have the skills to work with that unique player of that age group."
