The worse is when they actually have a shared interest and pull away all of a sudden.

When attraction doesn't flow both ways it means the timing isn't right for you to be in a relationship. Trust that when it's your season the connection will be mutual and a beautiful relationship will blossom (:

It's been over six months and I still find myself sad and angry. He was nice about the rejection, but it shattered my world. I am so desperate to move on. I am hoping that by the end of the year, I have forgotten all about him. He breadcrumbed me in oblivion but he wanted to stay in contact after I told my feelings. I refused. I just need to accept the defeat. I refuse to loose my self-respect over a commitment-phobic man in his 40's who would only require my attention when he was horny. Here's to a new year, and no more letting this dude get to me.

The worse would be is never tell the person that you love him/her and he/she dies. Always say what you feel. Whatever the results.

The tears flowed as I watched this... i wear my heart on my sleeve, if I fall in love, I'm very intense.. I've learned now, (too late in life) that men usually don't want you to fall in love with them. They only want me stoic, unemotional and sexy.. with no needs...

What I would say is if your going to confess your feelings to someone who has become a good friend first and important in your life, strongly consider how it will make dealing with eachother differant after you tell them. Knowing may be better than not knowing, but we also need to be able to handle the new normal if it doesn't go well. I went through this 7 years ago with a good friend. I fell in love. He didn't. I confessed and got extremely hurt. Then I acted like an idiot because he didn't want me. I messed up the friendship and it has never recovered to where it was pre confession. So I'd say if you confess your feelings to someone, make sure you can handle a possible no without blowing up the friendship. I learned a massive lesson through that.

My case was a bit different as he actually pretended he liked me then rejected. Feels like he stabbed me in the heart. Now as I have moved on he wants to speak again. Love is poison. I will always love him, flaws and all but I’m moving forward with my life.

I was quite enamored by a girl over a year ago, for months I was battling with anxiety to try and communicate with her, I eventually picked up some courage to ask her out by the end of the academy year, but she very gently rejected me saying she was busy with her part time job because they were underemployed, I've been in so much pain for the last year, wishing i was more confident, maybe if i spoke with her more, this clip has relieved me greatly to tell myself at least i've asked her and confessed my affection towards her, thank you so much susan!

For having not dared to confess my feelings to my high school crush around two decades ago and still regret it ever since, I wholeheartedly agree with every word Susan pulled out in the 4th minute of this video : Never abstain from confessing your feelings to someone you love. Fear of rejection will be much more painful on the long run, than the sting of actual rejection.

I had confessed my love to a man of my dreams and he totally rejected me, he got distant and then, we stopped talking, then time pass and he called me he started asking me out again. He like was pursuing me. By this time, I was hurt and started dating someone new.

I had recently said " Love you " to someone special, knowing that she's unreachable , and at that moment also said Goodbye , it is and was a very emotional experience , I cried, even now while I write this comment....but knowing in my Heart I'm doing the right thing...

Men can be romantically tone deaf.
If you have feelings for him you would not be wrong to articulate those feelings because subtle flirting often times goes unnoticed.
Getting clarity, brings closure to the mystery and closure brings peace.

For me it's a better relationship when the guy actually says something, and I've given hints and looks of interest. Men who care have no problem sharing their feelings, so let them take the risk.

What’s even worse is when you are friends and you know that they care for you and are really kind in rejecting you, which makes you love them even more.
I know I’m supposed to forget about her but in the days/weeks after I told her she was so gentle with my heart that I‘m even more certain she is the one.
How do you move on from that?

I wonder when confessing your feelings has ever worked. Millions of painful rejections and people still do it.
