Well, usually pirates tend to steal from fishermen and merchants, not from Blackbeard's personal treasury

You have two chests, you're a target

You have twenty chests, you're a *threat*

The fish crate is the most valuable object in the game.

Sea of Thieves can either be the chillest game possible or the most stressful. There is no in-between.

Every time I’m sailing around with a completely empty boat, I get a bunch of sweats that cuss me out for scuttling my ship. Like no, I dont want to die against 4 people over and over for an empty boat.

The sweats are afraid of competent pirates, they like to pull the wings off of flies.

You stack vault after vault after vault, nobody bats an eye. You actually try to level up merchant alliance, and everyone loses their minds!

Because people like to pick on easy targets. Having that much loot stacked means you have the skills to hold and sell that loot

Reminds me of that Slimecicle clip of him saying
"NO, YOU'RE THE MONSTER, YOU DONT GET TO RUN AWAY, COME BACK AND *SCARE* ME!"

An unspoken rule for most players for both old and new: Never f*ck with Grinder players, or they will grind you.

Edit: What the...!? How did this blow up!? I'm thankful for the likes, but how did this get so many!?

I leave fishing players alone. I've made that mistake already...

In my experience, whenever I’m looking for PVP, have reapers up, and server hop or whatever else, no one ever shows up or does anything but run. But when I want to do a tall tale, maybe a treasury or sea fort and just chill, suddenly everyone’s a PvP guy.

Bro! Honestly accurate to the point it lead me to burnout.

Every single time, EVERY SINGLE TIME, we set out, no loot, no stock up (cannon balls, food, extras like bait) to do Tall Tales. As we are in the middle of the tale there's then a reaper fleet, a kraken, the entire megalodon species, a skeleton armada, santa claus with a shotgun, Captain Flame Heart, my mom with a slipper, and for good measure 80 billion randomly floating kegs.

We have done all the sea forts before, got that treasure that beams the light on the sky, and done two ashen lords all in one sitting before and literally not even a skeleton sloop showed up. It's bananas.

Seeing the one lone reaper sloop in the middle of the map with all the event chests: “That’s not a man, that’s a weapon.”

SoT in a nutshell:
You have 1000 chests, you are chill.
You caught the smallest fish, *you become public enemy no.1*

Me and my group (2 brigs, 6 players) were doing FOTD back to back to back the other day, and we could see a Galleon just chilling at the nearby outpost. After the first 3, we decided to sell, and I sailed us over there to everyone else's reluctance. Dude was just fishing the whole time we could see him.😂😂
We added him to the alliance, so every time we came to sell stuff, he would get paid, too. Paid off in the end because our other brig got attacked by a skelly galleon on our next selling voyage and got blown up by our own kegs. Galleon dude came to the rescue, grabbed all the treasure, sank the Galleon, and then we escorted him to the outpost. Was a fun day.

This is a 100% accurate short. I suck and did solo athena's, no one bothered me. I tried fishing safely and 5 times in a row I got griefed.

I remember we did talltale with friend of mine. We had no treasure, we sunk 2 galleons, 1 brig and 3 sloops bothering us. Other day we did two forts of fortune, few megs, skeleton fleet and gold hoarder vault, not even a mast on horizon.

I remember my buddy and I would just fire at most ships we saw hoping they’d go in for a fight too, even against 3-4 player ships. We’d been playing for a few days.

Had some great fights and one of the fun ones was falling on 2 very obvious sweats and changing our objective to “survive” when they’d nail almost every single shots (mostly right on our mast) and attempted to board us a few times from far away (we saw them coming and came from other competitive games, so thankfully they didn’t manage to take over our ship while being 1 of them vs 2 of us on our own boat, it was crazy).
