My half brother had some mental issues. He could be very violent, and often spoke of dark, and disturbing ideas. I noticed that he would hide these personality traits when meeting new people. I would sometimes warn my friends of his propensity towards violence. After meeting him, they'd tell me what a great guy he was, and how terrible that I would try to poison them against him. He always vindicated me eventually, because once he felt he'd gained their friendship, he would show his true colors. They all came and expressed their regrets in doubting me later.
This has been the experience I've had with every person Ive encountered from israel. Them usually come of as great people at first. Once you've spent enough time around them, you will eventually see their mask come off.
