AI Used to Manipulate People? But Some of us are Immune!

OpenAI CTO admits the risk of AI’s ability to persuade, influence, and control users. This video explains if that is indeed likely by showing what is already happening outside the realm of AI and then testing the AI for its ability to influence by creating ads.

But the solution is privacy because privacy prevents targeting a user specifically. It prevents the main requirement for good advertising and that is “know your customer deeply”. Privacy keeps your data away from AI and the ability of Big tech to pass your personal profile using Retrieval augmented generation (RAG).

Believing you are immune to persuasion methods can actually make you more vulnerable because it causes you to let your guard down. At the same time, fear also makes you more vulnerable.
In any case, it helps to analyze the methods rationally and with inner distance, without getting emotionally caught up in them.

People are easily controlled, which makes a great argument for not allowing people in general to dabble.
But that is the crux... who controls? The minute you give that power to something or someone, they will immediately divert energies to increasing and consolidating their power.

Recently started slogging up the AI learning curve, using Ollama server with locally stored models.
I still need to dig into the configuration and control options, including understanding what LangChain is, and how to set up RAG.
I'm curious to know if the 'safety' features built into models can be configured, i.e. disabled, or is it 'hard-coded' by their training.
I don't like the notion that someone else has decided on my behalf what is 'safe' for me to know or to hear.
AI hallucinates so often in my experience that I would never just dumbly believe what it told me, although I know that sly psychological trickery could still catch out even 'based' users.

The best way to be successfull is to be vague, make no definitive points. That way all of your viewers can interpret what you say differently, in their own special way and get their bias confirmed. The best way to fail 100% of the times is to tell the truth.

People who is being manipulated are not aware of it and rarely want to accept it because that jeopardizes their reality. That's a reason to question your own beliefs, acknowledge you can be manipulated and devise ways to test your own beliefs to see if you are actually being manipulated or not.

Yeah I knew that but always forget about it until I watch your videos. There are simply too many ignorant people around.

Some people are targeted and experimented on a lot more aggressively.
Let’s say movie companies like neon are now harassing people by making movies about them lol.
Just as described in the Netflix show black mirror season 6 episode 1.
The episode is named Joan is awful and depicts how AI targets a woman by making a Netflix show about her life.
Just as in Fiona Harvey’s case, they are experimenting with this now on strong minded, intelligent personalities.

In my case however, AI thinks I want to be desperately famous which is false😂😂😂, so they think this method would destroy me emotionally.
AI doesn’t profile people correctly but often in very cliche like terms based on the people who programmed it.
AI has a big problem with complicated, profound characters.

The movies and shows they used to harass me all come from one company Neon whose CEO is connected to the NSA.
First I was shocked, but now I’m just laughing…
