I made a project with Arduino uno to show the LED status if it's on or off but when it goes under on condition the "f" letter or previous results also appears so I cleared the previous result by lcd.cleae(); but it clear all of previous text how can I clear specific letter or text from  display  at specific position please help me out

Bhai mene ek project banana he automatic lights ka, matlab jab me andar kamre me jayu to light ON ho jaye, mene PIR ke bare me suna he magar jab me kamre ke amdar hou aur koi bhi movement na karu to light jalti rehni chahie es liye me PIR sensor use nahi kar sakta aur bi Directional visitor counter me bhi agar 2 person ek sath enter kar jaye to fir vo 2 persons ko 1 hi count karta he. Please help brother suggest me a appropriate sensor.

I interfaced this lcd and was working fine. But as soon as I attached a 5V relay with arduino, lcd started malfunctioning. It started showing garbage. As soon as I remove the relay, it works fine. I am using Arduino Mega 2500. Help me out please.
