Just one quick post today remembering the great jazz drummer Max Roach. He was born on January 10, 1924 and passed on August 16, 2007. St. Thomas is from the classic Sonny Rollins album Saxophone Colossus released on Prestige in 1956. Sonny's solo is one of his greatest and Max's is just as amazing. Along with Art Blakey Roach is one of my two favorite jazz drummers.
