NOTHING BUT FACTS!!! I started shooting and editing in 2020 and started off charging 50 then 100 then 150 but the second I started charging 250-300 people would say “that’s too much dude you taxing” and then would ask for insane edits that weren’t worth what I was charging. If I could go back I would start off shooting videos of my car and editing already shot videos off yt to practice because now I feel like I’ve got a brick wall with videography cause nobody wants to pay.

Not realistic my friend. Maybe for short time but there's no longevity. I have tons of editor friends in the industry. Yes, some make 10K/month but it's never consistent. Most editors work project based and if brands want you full-time then you're salary. It's feast or famine. And like you said editing is a commodity, brands will always look for the cheapest editor they can find. When you start increasing your rate youll outprice them. And selling templates and making 10K/month every single year you need to spend lots of money in marketing and put new templates consistently. It's not as easy and sustainable as you explained in the video.
