Classic Cars of The Love Boat (TV Series 1977-1987)

Originally airing from September 24th 1977 to May 24th 1986, "The Love Boat" ran for a total of 9 seasons and 2 hundred 50 episodes. Set on the cruise ship MS Pacific Princess, the series revolved around the ship's captain, Merrill Stubing, and a handful of his crew, with passengers played by guest actors for each episode, all having romantic, dramatic and humorous adventures. Throughout the crew and the passenger's adventures, they encounter a variety of now classic cars. Today, we're taking a look at the cars of, "The Love Boat." Let's begin.

Being on that " ship " I did not think that this TV show would feature any cars ! Wrong . What I did not know at 5:04 Ernest Borgnine made a brief appearance in a scene with his old McHale's Navy castmate Gavin MacLeod . I thought only Bob Hastings had appeared on The Love Boat ! Also Bernie Kopell was a guest star on one episode of McHale . MacLeod, Borgnine and Forsythe had something in common . Each man lived to at least ninety years of age .

Biggest surprise is at 7:43, probably the only appearance of a Shanghai SH760 in an American scripted drama. That and a nice selection of non-US-spec Euro cars points to them really filming at the places the Pacific Princess really sailed to, instead of doing mockups in the 30-mile zone and using whatever cars they could get from LA-based studio rentals.
