🗳 Germany voted on the weekend - and the results are roughly as predicted. While the centre-right CDU won the election with 28.6% and is most likely to build the new government under potential chancellor Friedrich Merz, the AfD came second with 20.8%. According to the election research organisation Infratest, The Left party and the AfD were particularly strong among 18 to 24-year-olds.
Many interpret this to mean that young people in Germany are polarised further to the left and right, while support for the political center is decreasing. Now, it's time to form a government. Friedrich Merz, the election winner and CDU's candidate for chancellor, wants to form a coalition by Easter. His most likely partner seems to be the centre-left SPD.

ℹ We asked young people in Berlin what they think of the election results. However, if we had asked young people in more rural areas, the video would probably have looked very different.
