UPDATE on May 27th 2022: Still have those original pool noodles in place and they are still reducing the noise level to near zero compared to before-the-noodles. I live in Denver, we had over 50" of snow this winter and just about as much the last few winters since I installed the noodles in 2019, these noodles are hard core staying intact

Or, just twist a thick bungee cord around the cross bars. That creates a continuous fin that slices through the air. A vortex generator. You see the implementation of that design on antennas for the exact same purpose.

UPDATE on March 28th 2021: 20 months later and the pool noodles are holding up great, a little delamination, probably need to change out each noodle in late summer 2021. The noise is still non-existent, literally like not having a rack on my roof, I have put on about 13k miles since my original post and nothing but silence on the roof.

I'll give it a shot and let you know how it works out. Thanks for the tip from Canada!

I had great hope with the noodle to fix the noise on highway but it is worse, I only had one in hand. I will put the rack 6in closer to the rear and lower it 1in by doing a small change . I hope it will help, my headliner is vibrating a lot

I can't see the noodles in your video. did you cut it length wise and wrap it around the cross bars only? thanks!
