I decided for the MT09 2020, recently bought one but man was it tough! The 2021 just looks... "too naked" for me at least, like it's missing something. I do like the new transformer/futuristic headlight but the old one just looks so god damn aggressive an mean. It literally came down to insurance and if I wanted to wait to get one or get one NOW.

I like the loudness of the storm fluo color scheme but the black looks cooler and would probably age better (the old neon green wheels for some reason feel dated on the older models)

imo the 21 looks terrible, the 21 definitely has a lot of upgrades and changes that make it the better bike but I just cant over the front end.

2021 is a better bike made cheaper. Plastic break fluid reservoir, empty space behind the engine, LED turn signals are cheaper to produce. Which damn headlight do you think cost more to make. They went back to the standard plastic fender from the parts bin. I'm not hating but personally would not buy it new.
