I hate this as much as the next guy, but assuming these ball bearing don’t shatter, it’s a cleaner wound than a lot of other explosions. A lot of grenades have tiny bits of metal in them and metal cased explosives can release tiny bits of shrapnel that X-ray sometimes can’t find. You can find stories of US war vets after being hit by shrapnel talking about how it still hurts 10 years later

Really nothing new in the ordnance, just in the delivery. Kind of looks similar to the design of 16th century grenades, just different fuse and plastic parts.
