For starters, proposing with an empty ring box really is lame; second no single cliche was spared in this story: the simple minded broke guy rejected by the greedy girlfriend, the never ending self doubts, the new supporting girl friend, the overnight triumph, becoming filthy rich overnight, meeting the ex now falling from grace who tries to flirt him back and ending up being dumped by him.
For real, is it difficult to change things a little bit? Maybe not so much success for him, the ex not so fallen from grace, with the lesson learned and with a simple man by her side?
