Thank you for visiting Nagasaki.
In every war, it is always the children, women, and ordinary people who suffer the most.

We thank you for visiting the Peace Museum in Nagasaki first. On a personal note, my ancestral home was in the city of Hiroshima. As you know, Hiroshima also has a history of destruction by the atomic bomb. Therefore, I have extremely few relatives. We Japanese do not resent America. Because all the evil is the war itself, and we cannot say anything bad about the soldiers who went to the battlefield and their mission. I believe that the strongest and greatest weapon against war is the desire for peace. It is never a powerful weapon such as nuclear weapons. I believe that the heart that desires peace before starting a war is the weapon that will truly win a war. Let the people of the world join hands together, and let's pass the future on to our children. Thank you very much.

Thank you for visiting my hometown, Nagasaki. I also agree with your visit to the Atomic Bomb Museum and your thoughts on peace that you felt there. In particular, the damage done to innocent children can only be summed up in one word: war is evil. I also listened to the song "Origami Crane" sung by elementary school students at Peace Memorial Park. I am an elementary school teacher, and every summer I sing this song at the school's peace memorial meeting. It always brings tears to my eyes. I hope that all the children of the world can live happily.

After the war, we Japanese were instilled with a masochistic view of history and were made to believe that the Japanese were bad. However, with the recent spread of the Internet, I understand that the Japanese fought against white imperialism and colonialism. Justice was on Japan's side. However, America, which massacred those Japanese people, including women and children, was clearly in violation of international law. I want the honor of the Japanese people of the past to be restored and for everyone to recognize that the past of racism against people of color and white supremacy was wrong. Please restore the honor of the Japanese people when you and your family return to America. The Japanese were kind and courageous people who fought for Asia, which was dominated by the West. They were never a people who deserved to be massacred by atomic bombs.

私は長崎生まれ。
祖母と母は2次被爆者。(運が良かっただけ)

あの時のアメリカの行動を一切許す気はない。
忘れる気もない。

それを忘れないことだ。
