I had both a 2245 and a 2270, and just sold the 2270 recently. It had a full upgrade in 2018 (outputs, filter caps, power supply, etc), and I was amazed at the price I got for it. I kept the 2245, paired with JBL L-166 Horizons, which has also had a full upgrade. I will die with this 2245, and it’s my man cave unit. The 2270 is imo the best overall receiver ever built.

I drove my Maggies with this rcvr. Handled them just fine. Wow, what a product.

My dad had that exact Marantz it sat in the garage for as long as I can remember. At least from 1990-2012. He told me he bought it in 1975 or something. I always thought is was obsolete. I wonder if it's still kicking around.

I have a sweet sounding 2238B that has been in the family since new, it was cleaned and serviced about a year ago. I don't need a 2270 but I would probably buy one if I came across a good deal.

Even traded a McIntosh C26 for a refurbished 2270. The blue LEDs on mine look fabulous.

I would say the Pioneer SX-1010 started the Power wars and in the Top 5. Best is in the Ears of the beholder.

I've had my 2285B since 78. It's the only thing I own that I worry what will happen to it when I die.

A 2270 with a Dual turntable & you were the shit back in the day! If you had JBL L-100s, you were the king

I just bought a fully restored Marantz 2270 six weeks ago. What a beauty. You said you rebuilt the power supply. What did you do exactly? I've never of someone rebuilding a power supply.

Question: can I connect a Cambridge Audio CXN100 to my Marranz 2270? Please advise. I have owned my Marrantz since 1973 and am definitely old school. Would I use the AUX input? If so, will it sound as good as it would with more modern receivers?

Be nice to see the rear connections the 2270 offers, I feel the 2275 is superior with more features & improved aesthetic's

A great stereo, amazing looking, maybe the best looking stereo ever made, but the best ? The best would have to be based on sound quality, in that measurement I would have to say Sansui was superior . to Marantz, or any other brand .. period .. Sansui is still affordable too, a bit of a secret among audio files, Those who own them know ... and will never switch just for a visual turn on ..

I have got an old Marantz 2250B I did buy in 1976. Has also the walnut case. Have not used it for years. The selector switch was noicey and some lamps didn't work. I think I must do something with it now. Wanna like to use it with my vintage JBL's. The volume print on the faceplate was gone too. Something to do with this ?. I should have used the plastic protection shield. Didn't think about that. Greetings from Norway

I like LEDs during the day but after dark they are just too bright, maybe an auto dimmer circuit? Also not a big fan of the Marantz sound ( a bit too bright) I prefer Sansui, Sony or Onkyo from the same era..
