WHAT IS THE ATHEIST EXPERIENCE?

The Atheist Experience is a weekly call-in television show in Austin, Texas geared at a non-atheist audience. The Atheist Experience is produced by the Atheist Community of Austin.

The Atheist Community of Austin is organized as a nonprofit educational corporation to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals.

We define atheism as the lack of belief in gods. This definition also encompasses what most people call agnosticism.

I wish more Muslims would call in. They seem to take their fairytales way more seriously than other religions in my experience and it’s funny how angry they get over fucking nothing. I love it.

I think the way the caller was taught to treat people who leave islam has a huge impact on why he decided AP wasn't a good fit. If anything, that proves he's a perfect fit.

It's one thing to not be born into their religion, but to be a part of it and decide that it's wrong is a whole different level of insult.

Wow! Regardless of if it’s Islam, Christianity, or Judaism, I’m always left speechless by people who are so narcissistic, they think that their personal entitlement, to be the one true representative of “god” affects the facts of reality.

I guess from the callers words his god is entirely dependent on what AP thinks? I mean if AP didn’t exist how would that prove his god.

Sadly too many religious believers appear to find any critique of their beliefs as personally offensive and default to angry emotional reactions rather than reasoned discussion. Jacob is just another believer who wants to vent his spleen, and does not seem to realize it just makes himself look like an ignorant fool. I would dearly love to hear someone present a reasoned argument that contains some valid points. They do come along sometimes, but sadly for every intellectually honest example of interlocution there are more than 100 Jacob's just wanting to spew bile and ilinformed nonsense.

I love the way Matt handles situations of any kind. The callers should know this; when you call in, just go straight to make your point. Because you will be hung up otherwise! Don’t go around efing bush talking about irrelevant bs. That’s my two cents, there you have it.
