the most important part of this interview comes later when Bryan identifies that he is vegan for ethical reasons rather than health, which hopefully make others he does have influence with consider their own ethical choices 🤞

Even if you're right, this video kind of seems needless for me. He's following a healthy, ethical diet and he suggests people look at the science. Does he make a few bad assumptions? Maybe. Still, I'm sure there were more urgently problematic videos out there for you to review.

I dont see the point of this video. He's talking about himself and his experience because he's the person being interviewed. He also says that guidelines are not the same for everyone and that he follows the data. I don't really see what's wrong here, this video is really nitpicky for no reason.

Oh my gosh, this is why I love watching your channel. It also drives me all the way up to the snapping point when people reach the right conclusion but in the worst way. Whenever I point it out, I'll get at least one "just say you think murdering animals is good" or something like that. Like, no!! I think evidence is good.

Bryan Johnson has mentioned he works with a group of scientist and doctors so I don't know why you say it's his personal experience.

Even though I find some of his points questionable and many of the things he does are most certainly pointless, I can't help myself but to like him. He's living a healthy live, promoting healthy and ethical veganism, works together with scientists and researchers and comes across as rather genuine and authentic. Solid dude.

I dont understand this video. The point was to talk about his experience, he clearly pointed out that his protocol defies the set standard

I don’t understand your problem with this video. At multiple points you even concede that what he’s saying is correct, and have even included parts of the video where he’s talking about what he’s doing as something that is personal to him. He’s not saying anything wrong, even if he were giving advice, which he isn’t.

This is a low quality video.

He’s a multimillionaire who made it his mission to minmax his life in the name of longevity, testing all sorts of whacky ideas along the way that would take way longer to get the ball rolling in clinical trials. Let him have at it

The key distinction between Bryan's personal experience and a typical anecdote lies in the fact he's employing scientific approach in his life. Unlike an average person sharing their story, Bryan collaborates with a team of doctors and scientists to thoroughly measure and analyze nearly every aspect of his health and wellbeing. His protocols are grounded in scientific research, which makes sure that his methods are not just based on personal belief but on empirical evidence.

When Bryan claims to be defying the norm, he is challenging the common misconceptions held by the general public, not the established scientific understanding. His work demonstrates how adhering to practices based on science can lead to significant improvements in health and longevity. By sharing his journey, Bryan is providing a valuable public service, illustrating the tangible benefits of applying scientific knowledge to everyday life.

Critiquing him while he dedicates his life and resources to educating the public and popularizing health practices based on science does a disservice to the community. Bryan’s efforts help bridge the gap between complex scientific research and practical, everyday applications, which empowers individuals to make informed decisions about their health.

Instead of nitpicking a kind individual who is making significant contributions to both human health and animal exploitation, it would be more constructive to focus on addressing those who spread lies or engage in harming animals. Bryan’s work is doing more for the animals than many others, including a significant portion of the vegan community.

I feel like you made this one primarily for the views? No one speaks as carefully as they could but, Bryan isn't mentally forcing anyone to buy anything from him, he is one of the very, very few people on Youtube who gives you a breakdown of what's in the products so you can source ingredients and make your own. For those who don't want to source/prepare, his products seem to be saving people a bit of time/money, and may or may not have better background checks for what's actually in those offerings.

I think one of the biggest off putters about 'veganism', as a 'diet' rather than as just an ethical stance, is you need to carefully plan, or else many end up making dumb why I'm no longer vegan videos where you can usually see where they went wrong, and possibly would not have gone wrong in the first place if they'd just ignored say-anything clickbait influencer$?

His offerings may be bland, certainly they would be, to me, but easy to tweak them and at least he's helping take away some of the heavy lifting for people who, otherwise, probably never would go vegan because they think it's way too hard (or time consuming) to get the stay-healthy component right. Also, he does actually spend time talking about ethics, which is pretty gutsy because I know it will put a lot of people off who think caring is a weakness/woke.

What I like about him is that he has challenged not just those who work with/for him, but people out there in the real world of semi-affordability, to share their protocols/results in a much less anecdotal way compared to so many influencers.

Could he do better, sure, as could yourself, as could we all, not saying don't make more videos on him but I've a lot of time for this guy compared to 90% of the influencers out there who - who possibly you would have been better making critiques of?

I agree. This isn’t science and it is important to remind people how science works. Brian is not a longevity expert. He is just an expert on his own health. To say the rest of us don’t use science in regards of our health…isn’t true. We just don’t have the same luxury to be as rigorous.

Wow so many Bryan Johnson defenders here. I mean just his saying that the cultural norm is people eat more than 120grams of protein daily sounds wrong to me. Fitness industry norm maybe, but most people off the street eat way less.

Thank you! Great reminder that celebrities lifestyles should not replace the research and science.

In most of his videos, he mentions that they use research. He means that literally. They aren't trying random things on him. They review the research and design protocols for him to test. Yes, it is a sample size of one, but it is based on good, existing science. He's very vocal about that actually.

I'm not sure there's been a time in modern capitalism that wasn't full of salespeople, grifters, and self-proclaimed experts. Fitness and nutrition gurus have been around for decades. We should be cautious and skeptical of all of them.

Bryan Johnson has succeeded within the capitalist framework better than most, and I'm not surprised that his years of publishing all his data for free has evolved to him now selling products. All that said, I find his thinking models to be more sincere and forward-thinking than any other "thought leader" active today.

Zeroism as an idea makes so much sense to me. I'm not saying it's the one and only thinking model to hold, but I'm hard-pressed to find any real faults with it.

He may prove to be a disappointment, like many others who found their way into the spotlight and became addicted to the status that comes with it. But for now, I find him to be the most trustworthy figure communicating ideas today in the health and wellness space.
