McDonald's is the KING of creating new "meals" out of the same 6 items.

It’s become astronomical. Almost $4 for a 4 piece McNugget; almost $3 for a small fry. It’s ludicrous.

This is called “anchoring” by the way. Each of these items used to be a dollar on the dollar menu. Anchoring is raising the price to something until people are no longer willing to buy, and then coming down just a bit to seem somewhat more reasonable, but the perception of reasonable is to the new high price, and you forget that this a 66% increase because the $5 meal you got previously cost $3.
Honestly it doesn’t make sense to not eat clean nowadays. Fast food places are costing what healthy tasty alternatives do. I know grocery stores are different everywhere, but my local grocery store has assembled foods like different peppers stuffed with various cheeses and meats, stuffed mushrooms, brussel sprouts with and without bacon. Filling, tasty meals without weird preservatives each for <$5. Literally just pop it in a toaster oven and it’s ready to eat within the hour. It kind of doesn’t make sense to buy anything worse from a taste or financial perspective.

Edit: People have pointed out that it’s 4 items, not 3. I also mentioned that each of the items were previously a dollar on the dollar menu. It is still an increase, the point still stands.

Getting 4 $1 items for $5 isn't a deal. Mcdoubles used to be $1 and a big mac was like 2.75. Prices are still insane and I hope people don't buy into this.

If anyone is curious on the app you change the drink to a large just go to more drinks and you’ll get the option to get a large drink. The app is always your best bet to getting the most out of McDonald’s

Yeah, not a bad deal at all. It usually costs my wife and I $25-$35 for fast food (depending on where we go), and we're not even buying anything crazy. So, if we can eat for $10 total? That's pretty darn good.

Each of these items were individually on the dollar menu just a few years ago, and even just a few years ago _any size drink_ was a dollar. This meal is simply just a price increase packaged like as a deal. It's not particularly worth it, but if you are craving McDonald's, it's probably the cheapest thing you can get.

A good friend of my wife's owns several McDonald's in the Waukesha Wisconsin area. I asked him about this $5 deal. He said enjoy it while it lasts, says it probably won't be around very long.

hey reviewbrah just wanted to stop by and say that even though you disliked pizza hut's cheeseburger melt and you said that it's better off forgotten, your video still inspired me to want to try it for myself and i actually really enjoyed it. it was very cheesy and the flavor of the beef and ham on it was surprisingly good quality

Hardee’s now has a $5.99 meal to compete as well. You get more food than the $5 meals. You get 2 double cheeseburgers, small fries and 20 oz drink. All the $5 meals offer a small order of chicken nuggets to go with the burger or sandwich. Hardee’s double cheeseburger is bigger than any of the primary sandwiches offered in the other meals too.

Yea, things have gotten very expensive. It blows my mind when I think about how much I used to pay for stuff and how much I'm paying now. Some things have literally doubled in price, so I've had to cut them out entirely. Which sucks since we aren't talking about some high end stuff, rather stuff that I used to buy simply because it was inexpensive. Something needs to change and soon.
