Royal ghosts have proliferated around historic sites in Britain over centuries, but these mysterious sightings are now linked to a real life forensic, cold case which looks close to being cracked. The popular tourist destination of the Tower of London is not just a top attraction, but also considered the city’s most haunted location. Since its construction in 1066, as a fortress, palace and prison, the tower has seen its fair share of tragic events.

Honestly even if it's a PR stunt the fact that Charles is OK with it and wants it to move forward really warms my heart

I worked with a chap who had been in the Irish Guards on Royal duties. He was in the guardroom at the tower one evening waiting to mount, when a Guardsman ran in, panic stricken. This was serious as he had, effectively, abandoned his post. The Guard Commander was a very reasonable officer and got him calmed down . The soldier was at his post, when he heard young voices calling from a window above. He looked up and two young people, wearing odd clothing were waving at him from a building that was empty. He took it that they were the Princes, fled and adamantly refused to return. He wasn't punished and there was no repeat performance.

I have always been curious as to why the queen did not want testing done on the remains. If it were me I'd be throwing money at the project and waiting very impatiently for results.

The late Queen Elisabeth would not allow forensic testing 😮 now King Charles lll is going to let them figure out what happened to the young Prince’s 😊

I was always suspicious of Margaret Beaufort, she needed the prince's gone to make his betrothal to Elizabeth of York a union with the York heir. Those boys would've been a constant threat. Her husband Lord Stanley had the keys to the Tower at the time, he was Richards right hand man but betrayed him at Bosworth to help his stepson win and take the throne. If Richard had killed them he would've said they died of a disease, all too common at the time, and displayed thier bodies to stop the risk of pretenders in future. The disappearance points to someone who couldn't be associated with the act in any way, as they were portraying thier cause as a fight against an immoral murderer. A person who used the propaganda of Richard killing them to win the Yorkist supporters to her son's side through anger and loyalty to the new heir, Elizabeth of York. Her future daughter in law and the next legitimate heir to the throne with the strongest claim as the late King Edward's oldest surviving child and born royal. Unlike Henry Tudor whose claim was tenuous and remote and whose eventual rule was by right of conquest...and also through his wife's claim. And when he re legitimised his wife's birth and claim and confirmed her parents marriage as good he had to have known those boys were not coming back as reinstating the York princesses would've done the same for the prince's.

There is one other person who had a greater reason to disappear the princes. The mother of Henry the seventh was quite close to the family at the time, she was obsessed with putting her son on the throne and definitely played the long game.

This is so fascinating. My Grandma always said the Uncle Richard ( III) killed the brothers and buried them under the steps of the White Tower. So, I find this information very interesting. Please keep all of us interested informed.

DNA tests would answer the question as to if the remains found belong to the two princes. If they don’t then the remains of Perkin Warbeck should also be tested to see if he actually was who he said he was. The church where he was buried still exists so it shouldn’t be too problematic to locate his remains.

Those poor poor beautiful boys, such a sad tragic end. I'd be haunting the last place I was stuck inside too! No wonder that their spirits are stuck in the tower. May this case be solved once and for all so these sweet Princes could finally be at peace, reunites with their parents where they belong. 😔 Marvelous job on this story! 🤜🤛

There were rumours years ago that the 2 princes were killed & bricked up behind the walls of the castle.

I’m also a descendant of Jacquetta Woodville through Thomas Grey so it’s very interesting to me that they sort this out. But I’ve seen the boys at the tower so I’m hesitant to believe they weren’t murdered. I take this very seriously because those boys were my family and I feel it’s time that we at least test the bones.

I noticed you used an altered painting of Richard III instead of a more realistic one. These weren't the only children who disappeared while at the tower, off the top of my head a grandson of Margaret Pole also disappeared under Henry VIII. Its definitely time to get these bones tested!

Maybe Richard III received more of a bad rap than he deserved over the fate of his nephews. It is nice to know that he may have had a heart after all. Interesting report, thanks for this. <3

Richard like most younger brothers looked up to his older brother Edward even more than the normal brothers as he was bent and sickly while Edward was tall and handsome with an easy manner, I find it hard to believe he would have killed his brothers kids, he also was somewhat in awe of their mother Elizabeth making it even less likely,

I have been fascinated with this story since the 1970's. I had just watched Lawrence Olivier in Richard the III and started questioning the narrative when a women I worked with in the public library said, "Richard didn't kill his nephews, you need to read 'The Daughter of Time', by Josephine Tey." So I did! Excellent novel, a fun read and this video just took me back to all that! Tudor propaganda.
