GoPro Hero 7 Vlog: 4 Tips to Make Vlogging Possible

Vlogging with the GoPro Hero 7 can be tricky, but if you follow the following 4 tips you can use your Hero 7 as a vlogging camera without any problems.

Tip 1 - Vlog Set Up:
The only thing you need for your GoPro Hero 7 vlog set up is a pole, so you don't cover the GoPros microphones with your hands. You do not need any external microphone.

Tip 2 - Vlog Settings:
Which settings you should use on your GoPro Hero 7 for vlogging depends on your sd card capacity. If you have enough space, use 24/30fps and a high resolution, otherwise 1080p. Really important is also to have ProTune turned on. Like that your image quality gets way better. I share with you my exact settings in this video, just take a screen shot of my GoPro Hero 7 settings and start vlogging.

Tip 3 - Audio:
The most important thing beside image quality for vlogging is audio quality. GoPros are not known for its audio quality, but the GoPro Hero 7 has improved that and compared to my GoPro Hero Session 4 (which has really good audio), it sounds amazing. I made for you a side by side test of both audios, so you can compare them and make yourself an own opinion about the GoPro (Hero 7) audio. And I am sure, you will use your GoPro Hero 7 to make vlogs afterwards.

Tip 4 - How to avoid noises:
It is really important to avoid any annoying noises like wind, touch noises etc. while you are vlogging. But the main reason you should watch this video until tip number 4 is a little surprise which makes you want to buy the new GoPro Hero 7 (black). Because for me, this camera is just perfect if you want to make vlogs.

Thank you for the tips! One tip from me: get yourself a wind slayer foam windshield from eBay for $2.30, it's fantastic. I have downhill skiing footage with no wind noise at all and those movements you advised to avoid won't matter at all.
