The world's loneliest language is not an indigenous way of communication on a remote island in the Pacific Ocean, but it originates in the middle of Europe!
Where does it come from? Some people think it was invented by basketball players, but does that really stand a chance?

Im from bilbao, which is a city in the basque country, and I can tell that the reason of this is because only old people use the language, it is taught in schools but none of us kids really think it is very important and some actually hate it

It’s amusing though because in my country “Batua” means to stone someone like literally in the olden times where you get stoned if you are a witch, prostitute, thief, etc. and so these people become lonely, abandoned, isolated, etc. 😅

It's probably a Mesolithic or Neolithic language that survived and persisted after the arrival of Indo-European migrants.
