A fun little thing I noticed in this fight is that when the hollow knight "screams" there's no sound. Why? Because "No voice to cry suffering"

Fun fact:
The Pure Vessel has some cut Dream Nail lines which make the character even more heartbreaking.
_"Do not think"_ in response to _"No mind to think"._
_"Do not hope"_ in response to _"No will to break."_
_"Do not speak"_ in response to _"No voice to cry suffering"._

And in the end, he says _"Do not..."_ and stops himself. It's heavily implied that his thought was _"Do not FAIL", _ but that implied that he *cared, * which is why he instantly stop the thought.

One of my favourite bosses too! Oddly enough, we had the same progression with it it seems. Beat it normally in a few tries, beat Ascended like it's nothing and then spend a while doing Radiant. I love the way the attacks are so fluid with it, and especially when it starts having new ones at lower health. The fact it starts off mostly using its Nail, then moves onto focus and then Void kinda parallels the Knight's damage progression too. Start off just hitting everything with a nail, move onto spells and then upgrade those spells to Void. Just a neat detail I noticed.

I saw that opening animation so many times trying to beat Pure Vessel that I started thinking he was saying "GET! OUT OF! MY! ROOM!!!" Made the repeated attempts just a little bit funnier
