As a movie theater employee, I love seeing one of our regular customers come in to see a movie by himself every few days. He really enjoys himself and I definitely recommend seeing a movie alone. Pro tip: The best days to try to get an empty theater to yourself are Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday :)

Karsten just wants us to go alone so there’s less of us to interrupt his Space Jam 2 repeat viewings

I love going alone. I missed out on so many experiences when I was a teenager by only going if I could manage to find someone to watch a "weird" film that I liked. It's really the perfect way to destress.

Nowadays, I just go. Instead of trying to convince someone to see The Green Knight or whatever, I go alone and enjoy it with everyone else in the theater. Though, there have been times I've been alone in the theater (like when I saw The Farewell) but even then I don't mind. Some of my best experiences were alone, I still remember seeing Phantom Thread and totally vibing with the audience when the film ended.

The first time I went to the movies alone, I was embarrassed. I was at a point in life where I didn’t have a lot of friends, so I went by myself. Fucking fantastic. Love getting friends together to see something, but man you’re so right, there’s something so incredible and personal about seeing a movie in the theater by yourself. Love doing that and loved this video. Good job, man!

As an introvert who loves movies I've been doing this for years. Extroverts will never understand that being alone doesn't mean that you're lonely.

I ended up watching Little Women (2019) in the cinema just before everything locked down on a Monday afternoon. I was one of only about 5 people, and the rest of the audience were these old ladies watching it together. It was just so peaceful and one of the best cinema experiences I’ve ever had.

i love going alone, especially since my friends aren't super keen on watching a double feature of Nomadland and Godzilla Vs Kong on a thursday after school every week

Completely agree my family thinks I’m weird for watching movies by myself even at home but then when I do watch movies with them they either talk loudly the whole time or they stare at their phones which is another level of aggravating

I used to not go to the movies alone, I always had to drag a friend with me for some reason. After I realised I'm missing out on seeing some interesting movies in the cinema because nobody I know wanted to go, I decided to go alone once. And it felt... refreshing. I didn't make it a habit yet, but after I moved to another city, a city where I didn't know anyone and therefore couldn't ask anyone to go to the movies with me, I started to frequently go alone.
Now I actually prefer it. No need to try and schedule it with anyone, don't have to ask around and wait hours or days for a response, don't have to guess if they want to hang out afterwards or not - I just check what they're showing that day, get my ticket and go.
