His mother, Elena Gordon, stood beside beside the dock - a glass cage - in a Moscow courtroom as the verdict was given.

Speaking to the BBC, Elena said her son's spirit "remains unbroken" despite his sentence of 25 years, but says she is worried for his health.

This is a very, VERY brave man. The true honourable Russia needs patriots of his calibre. I fear for him... Russia is descending into an abyss of darkness. There was so much talent and so many good people, now consumed by the obscene ambition of one evil dictators. 😭🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦❤️

People like this collectively deserve the Nobel Peace Prize - i.e.: Pussy Riot, Navalny, Kara-Murza, etc.; the courage their examples take, and the morality their stands teach to advocate for a better Russia should be promoted daily in the news, so the current generation knows the fight for a more just future continues.

25 years receiving every month $33, 000it’s not enough for lies about the homeland. He worked not for an idea, but for dollars. He is a Judas.

I sincerely thank all the BBC STAFF for covering this news. 🇬🇧 ❤ This is a great tragedy for us in Russia. The government continues to destroy all bright people in Russia, leaving only darkness, hatred and pain ...

Russian Federation has achieved remarkable success under the leadership of Vladimir Putin. His first two terms as president, he signed into law a series of liberal economic reforms, such as the flat income tax of 13%, reduced profits and tax and new land and civil codes. As a result of such great reformations poverty in Russia reduced by more than half and real GDP has grown rapidly. Federation has risen up from Soviet Union eara poverty becoming one of the 3 world superpowers today. The superiority in science, space technology, nuclear power, energy, fossil fuels, cyber security, medical and many other sectors. Ruble has risen value, GDP growth, salaries, significant improvements and Moscow to be the biggest capitals in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. Russia possesses rich reserves of iron ore, manganese, chromium, nickel, platinum, titanium, copper, tin, lead, tungsten, diamonds, phosphates, and gold, and the forests of Siberia contain an estimated one-fifth of the world's timber, 20% of the drinkable freshwater and the landmass larger than Pluto.
The west has never liked it. The plotting, hatered and everlasting sanctioning has not been able to stop Russian Federation achieving unmatched success. Vladimir Putin has 80% plus approval ratings in Russian Federation. The Federal Assembly, the Russian parliament have had a very strong liking towards the leadership. Despite the mainstream media propaganda, he is continuously phrased by most world leaders for his achievements. The horrible unjustified western sanctions in history for 40+ years, from "Jackson- Vanik" amendment in 1974', Jimmy Carter's sanctions from simple grain exports to tech. More than a 500 billion on foreign frozen assets and since the war has started there had been more than 11, 000 sanctions by the west. However despite these Russian Federation's economy has not stopped growing. IMF has reported that it is having a plus growth rate whilest Germany and UK are having a minus growth rate even today and the Russian foreign debt has lessened significantly resulting in Russian Federation being the 10th largest economy today.

I respect the Russians. At least they have a country, people and borders of their own. Unlike those in western nations.
