In this video, I delve into the scary story of the beast of Bray road and cover three eye-witness sightings, two of which occurred on Bray road in Elkhorn, Wisconsin in 1989 and 1991. For the third sighting, I rewind to 1936, and explore the first recorded encounter with the beast, which occurred at a Catholic school in Jefferson, Wisconsin, about 45 minutes north of Elkhorn.

The beast of Bray road is a mysterious wolf-like creature that was seen by drivers and farmers in the Elkhorn area for years, but the sightings peaked in the 1990’s. The beast received notoriety in 1991 when local reporter, Linda Godfrey, interviewed eye-witnesses and wrote an article about the events in the Walworth County Week, a local newspaper at the time. The video includes footage of Bray road, Elkhorn, and St. Coletta’s School, where the beast was first encountered in 1936.

I must say that for a guy from Central Europe these clips are great. I have always been interested in rural America, small towns, back roads, local legends and beliefs rather then Hollywood splendor. Thanks to your work, I can watch it from the comfort of my couch. Thanks!

As far as bray road goes, I haven't had any issues driving down it in the past. However, I was driving down Holy Hill Road, in Richfield one night and my car broke down. I ended up calling a buddy to come pick me up and a tow truck to grab my car. While I was waiting, I kept hearing something off to the side of me and figured it was a raccoon or something. after about 10 or 15 mins i kept hearing it, then out of know where a large clump of dirt hit my hood and there were small rocks rolling down a small hill next to me. I was terrified because that road is really dark at night and there's a lot of wooded area around me. i stayed in my car and pulled out a pocketknife I had, like it would help. But after another 5 mins passed i saw something big cross the road in front of me. like maybe 50 yards away. Definitely wasn't a person. Still to this day i have no clue what it was. It walked on two legs and looked hairy from where i was at. Anyone else ever see something like this out there before? I was about a mile from Holy Hill church when it happened.

I live in Burlington Wi, 10 or so miles from Bray road.
I was coming home late one night in 1997. Had been playing cards in Madison with friends. After turning onto Highway 11 off of interstate 43, I drove a mile or so and suddenly saw what I thought was a dog sitting on the opposite side of the road. I was afraid it would try to cross the road in front of me and so I kept a close eye on it. As I passed it I was shocked to see how big it was. Its head was higher than the roof of my car was tall. I was driving a Civic, not huge, but still it was taller just sitting on it's butt. It was so weird that I thought about turning around and driving by it again just to see what it was. But then I thought that felt way too much like the start of a horror movie and just drove home.
I had not heard of the Beast of Bray road back then. It was only a few years later that I heard about the stories. Where I saw this "dog/wolf" might have been on highway 11, but it was within eyeshot of Bray road (no more than a quarter mile or so away).

Anyway, have never seen anything like that since, but i do not really drive over that direction late at night very often anymore.

Seriously, don't you think most people can tell a wolf from a bear, standing on back feet or not?!
Good job on the facts and great images in this upload. RIP in peace Linda ❤

Here in Ontario we don't really have any Dogman sightings but we do have plenty of Wendigo and Bigfoot sightings in our provincial parks and conservancies parks.

I live in Elkhorn and I will say this. There is a weird like… feeling around bray road. It’s not necessarily like people claim they see the beast, people always feel like a demonic presence on that road myself included. It’s really odd…

It's like the dogman encounters here in Michigan.

I absolutely believe there is something out there that people are seeing but I don’t think it’s a bear or canine. People aren’t that stupid to confuse something like that but it’s a convenient answer. Another great video. 👍

You'd have to have nerves of steel to drive along that road alone at night. And especially after you'd heard of the creature!

Reminds me of the Skinwalker sightings. I am curious if there are Native tribes in the area that have their own explanation. Your channel is rising quickly. You are putting out some great stuff!

Oh man there are SO many haunted places in Wisconsin for you to explore. St. Nazianz, Dahmer’s old hunting grounds in MKE, Maribel Caves, Seven Bridges, The Kemper Center, Indian Mound Park, Paradise Road, Door County, and The Pabst Mansion just to name a few!

I can’t wait to see the future of this channel! I’m from WI and I love seeing videos pertaining to the spooky side of the state. There’s truly so much here. I’ve had weird experiences at almost all of the places I listed above. Can’t wait to see your next videos 😁🖤🧀

Used to live on the west side of Elkhorn until 2008. Got home late from work one night and went outside to look for our cats.
I would shine a flashlight into the wetlands that bordered our backyard so that I could see there eyes flash and call them in.
One night I saw two pants of eyes shining back at me that looked to be 7 to 8 feet tall.
I left the cats out that night.

One of the rumors for Wisconsin involving native Americans and other residents, is there are werewolves in the state. They could be referred to as changelings.

There's definitely something there...I've heard some stories myself here farther north in south-central Wisconsin. People around here know what bears, wolves and coyotes look like and I know they do in Jefferson and Elkhorn too. I spend a lot of time outdoors and don't care to encounter one, whatever it is! Well done video, BTW. Thanks for that!

I, had a encounter, with this wolf!!! Around midnight! Never forget it. Looked like a wild wolf. Until it raised up off the ground! Was about 6 to 7 feet tall! Was a foggy night, kinda!started running at our SUV. The werewolf, was very fast. Was eating road kill.
