Official footage of the upcoming Marvel's Phase Two film "Ant-Man" shown at SDCC 2012.
Ant-Man is an upcoming American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics characters of the same name: Scott Lang and Hank Pym, produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. The film is intended to be the twelfth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Peyton Reed is set to direct the film written by Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish and Adam McKay, with Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly and Corey Stoll. In Ant-Man, Lang must help defend Dr. Pym's Ant-Man technology and plot a heist with worldwide ramifications.
Con-man Scott Lang must aid his mentor Dr. Hank Pym in safeguarding the mystery of the Ant-Man technology, which allows its user to decrease in size but increase in strength, from various menaces and plot a caper to defend the Earth.

Paul Rudd as Scott Lang / Ant-Man: A petty criminal, who acquires an invented substance that allows him to shrink in scale but increase in strength. Regarding Rudd's casting, producer Kevin Feige said, "Look at that origin of the petty crook who comes into contact with a suit and does his best to make good, and then look at someone like Paul Rudd, who can do slightly unsavory things like break into people’s houses and still be charming and who you root for and whose redemption you will find satisfaction in."
Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym / Ant-Man: An entomologist and physicist, who invents the Ant-Man technology in 1963 and mentors Lang to take over as Ant-Man Douglas compared his decision to join a superhero film to his role in Behind the Candelabra saying, "Sometimes—like [when] they didn't see you for Liberace—you've got to shake them up a little bit and have some fun."
Evangeline Lilly as Hope Pym: Hank Pym's daughter.
Corey Stoll as Darren Cross / Yellowjacket: A former protégé of Pym, who takes over Pym's company and acquires Pym's technology to create the Yellowjacket suit.

Additionally, Michael Peña and David Dastmalchian have been cast in undisclosed roles.

I still wish Edgar Wright would have directed it. He's one of my favorite directors ever. Don't get me wrong, I love the final product, and I'm glad Marvel kept a lot of Weight's script...but come on. Edgar Wright has never made a bad movie. This movie would have been AWESOME with him as the director

Not a die hard Marvel fan but I never saw the appeal to Ant man and  never saw the use of shrinking  down to size in combat... But now he's a badass.

Funny how the Ant-Man suit here looks better than the one in Quantumania

This looks badass. And it takes talent to make someone called "Ant-man" badass.

People need to give smaller characters a chance! This movie has serious talent behind it and the character is actually pretty cool.

I wished that Edgar Wright helmed this film because according to his original concept for the film it was originally going to be a stand - alone superhero heist film. That would be interesting to see.

DAMN IT MARVEL! Why you gotta fuck Edgar Wright like that, he’s one of the best directors out there with his amazing camera work and humorous jokes. He would have been PERFECT to direct a movie like AntMan

i dig the final version compared to this. i liked the quicker pace more than seeing every little thing he's doing in slow motion.

So if he farts it would be equally dangerous as if in normal size?

The way he casually enters the elevator and shrinks down is very Edgar Wright

Ironically, Ant-Man is probably the only MCU franchise where the more comedy it puts in, the better it is. I never got how I was supposed to take a story about a shrinking man who dresses up like an ant seriously.
