The Sicilian Bull, also known as the Brazen Bull or Bronze Bull, was a gruesome tort*re and execution device from ancient Greece. Designed by Perilaus of Athens for Phalaris, the tyrant of Akragas in Sicily, it was a hollow bronze statue shaped like a bull. Victims were locked inside, and a fire was lit underneath 🔥, causing them to be slowly roasted alive. The bull was designed with an acoustic apparatus that transformed the victim’s screams into sounds resembling a bull’s bellowing. 🐂🗣️
