ZO! GOSPEL CHOIR, BERGET LEWIS & BLACK HARMONY - ALKEBULAN, OUR LAND

Annually, on March 25, the United Nations commemorates the victims of Transatlantic Slave Trade. To honor the enslaved Africans ZO! Gospel Choir, Berget Lewis & Black Harmony teamed up to perform a specially written song titled "Alkebulan, Our Land" to reflect on this awful Crime against Humanity. The lyrics of the song are written by Ghislain Levant and Gordon Cruden. The musical composition is by Darren Gardner. "Alkebulan" is the old Arabic name for the continent of Africa and also refers to the underexposed Arab - African slave trade.

The song was first performed on 1 July 2019 during the annual National Commemoration of the Dutch Slavery Past in Amsterdam. The music and video were recorded in the Power Sound Studio in Amsterdam for the Analog Masters YouTube series.
