What gorgeous sound and amazing trills. Such great lower register resonance. I have known this piece for about 50 years now, and this is a truly inspirational performance.

I can’t believe I picked this tune for my solo in high school. It’s such a masterpiece.

I won a First in State in 1964 in Waukegan Illinois playing this to a piano accompaniment but I was too young to really appreciate what a great composer Weber was. The orchestra accompaniment here is wonderful to listen to, as is the clarinet playing. An outstanding performance!

La meva versió preferida. Comença el descens inicial als greus amb energia a 1:15. Altres intèrprets intenten amagar les notes amb l'intenció de fer la frase més elegant, em sembla. Però trobo que empènyer avall és més coherent amb el gir dramàtic dels contrabaixos a 0:57. A més, donar força al registre greu augmenta el dramatisme del registre superior a 1:19.

Vaig tenir com a professor de clarinet a en Carles Pertegaz, alumne d'en Joan Enric Lluna, que em va transmetre aquesta manera de tocar.

Gràcies per pujar la gravació, i quina llàstima que hi hagués seients buits!
