Σύμφωνα με δημοσιεύματα σε ελληνικά μέσα ενημέρωσης, τα οποία βασίζονται σε πληροφορίες από την ανταποκρίτρια της ΕΡΤ στην Τουρκία, Αριάνα Φερεντίνου, ο Τούρκος υπουργός Εξωτερικών, Μεβλούτ Τσαβούσογλου, λίγα 24ώρα πριν ξεκινήσουν οι διερευνητικές επαφές ανάμεσα σε Ελλάδα και Τουρκία, επανέλαβε τη θέση της Άγκυρας με την απειλή για "Casus Belli", αν η Ελληνική πλευρά προβεί σε επέκταση από τα 6 στα 12 νμ των χωρικών της υδάτων στο Αιγαίο.

According to Greek media reports, based on information from ERT correspondent in Turkey Ariana Ferentinou, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, just hours before the start of exploratory contacts between Greece and Turkey, he reiterated Ankara's position with the threat of "Casus Belli", if the Greek side makes an extension from 6 to 12 nm of its territorial waters in the Aegean sea.
